RELEASE INFORMATION
In September 2025, Snick Snack Music, in collaboration with Zen Feedbacker, released a monumental package of material from the legendary Norwegian queer post-punk and electronic pioneers Sadomaoistan, in the form of two albums: Terror Incognita and Retroskopi. Terror Incognita compiles, for the first time, material from the band’s early no wave and industrial period, while Retroskopi is a restored and reworked version of their only official album — the dark opus Retroskopi from 1997. Remastered and redesigned by Lasse Marhaug, the albums finally illuminate a long-neglected but important part of Norwegian LGBTQ culture, as well as electronic music history.

Now founding member Halvard Haldorsen has invited both his contemporaries from Norway’s early ’90s electronic underground and key figures from today’s local scene to rework material from these albums. EP3 continues where EP1 and EP2 left off, presenting remixes by influential artists from the dark synth-pop and club worlds, reaffirming Sadomaoistan’s place in Norway’s long tradition of trailblazing experimental music. With this third EP, they trace their roots back to the thriving EBM and synth scene they were part of in the ’90s.

Anstalt is a legendary Norwegian EBM project run by Tarjei Krogh, rooted in the darker fringes of synth, industrial, and experimental club music. Blending cold machine rhythms with atmospheric textures, the project moves between dystopian soundscapes and body-focused minimalism. Anstalt’s productions often evoke tension and introspection, balancing raw energy with conceptual depth.

Kant Kino is a Norwegian EBM/synth-pop duo known for their sharp electronic production and darkly romantic aesthetic. Emerging from Oslo’s club scene, they combine driving beats, melodic hooks, and emotionally charged vocals into sleek, dancefloor-ready tracks. Their sound channels classic synth-pop traditions while maintaining a contemporary, club-oriented edge.

Rune Lindbæk is a Tromsø-born DJ, producer, widely regarded as a pioneer of the “Nordic cosmic” sound. Since the late 1980s, he has fused house, disco, Balearic, and psychedelic influences into warm, hypnotic productions. A central figure in Norway’s electronic evolution, Lindbæk has consistently pushed boundaries while maintaining a timeless, melodic sensibility.

Doc L Junior, a.k.a. Kolbjørn Lyslo, is a Norwegian DJ and producer recognized as a driving force in the country’s underground house and disco scene. He began his career in Tromsø in the early 1990s with bands such as Aedena Cycle (early Röyksopp) and has since blended deep house, leftfield disco, and cosmic influences into a distinctive, groove-oriented sound.

Norwegian artist Blitzkrieg Baby, a.k.a. Kim Sølve, is a rising name in the world of modern industrial and noise music. Active since 2013 with his debut album Porcus Norvegicus, he presents a personal take on abrasive sounds and grim ambiances, informed by a taste for brooding atmospheres and an ironic attitude.

Bjørn Hatterud is a Norwegian curator, writer, and cultural mediator whose work bridges contemporary art, music, and social discourse. With a background in both visual art and cultural programming, he has been a key figure in Norway’s independent art scene for decades. Hatterud’s practice often explores themes of identity, class, disability, and marginality, combining sharp critical insight with a deeply personal voice.
