RELEASE INFORMATION
In September 2025 Snick Snack Music in collaboration with Zen Feedbacker released a monumental package of material from the legendary Norwegian queer, post punk and electronic pioneers Sadomaoistan, in form of the two albums Terror Incognita and Retroskopi. Terror Incognita compiles, for the first time, material from the band’s early no wave and industrial period, while Retroskopi is a restored and reworked version of their only official album the dark epos Retroskopi from 1997. Remastered and redesigned by Lasse Marhaug, the albums finally illuminate a long-neglected but important part of Norwegian queer culture and electronic music history.
Now, founding member Halvard Haldorsen has invited both his contemporaries from Norway’s early-1990s electronic underground and key figures from today’s local and international scene to rework material from these albums. EP2 continues where EP1 left off, presenting remixes by influential artists from the experimental and club worlds, reaffirming Sadomaoistan’s place in Norway’s long tradition of trailblazing experimental music.
Alexander Rishaug is a sound artist and electronic musician based in Oslo. His work lies at the intersection of field recordings, minimal electronics, and generative sound, often exploring themes of memory, place, and time.
The Soft Pink Truth is the experimental solo project of Drew Daniel, one half of the avant-garde electronic duo Matmos. Born from a dare to make a house record, the project debuted with danceable micro-house and disco-inflected compositions. Daniel has remixed artists as diverse as Björk, Fischerspooner, and Grizzly Bear, and has reinterpreted punk, hardcore, black metal, and crust punk classics through his distinct electronic lens—often engaging themes of queer critique and subversion.
Alexandra “DJ Lexie” Hellesnes Revold is a DJ and producer known for her hypnotic and minimal techno sound. She holds a master’s degree in electronic music performance from the University of Agder, which lends an academic depth to her raw, club-driven mixes.
Henriku is a Norwegian-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer recognized for his minimal house and techno productions, often infused with playful queer energy. He has released on labels such as Det Gode Selskab, including the acclaimed EP Rush Fantasy, which blends atmospheric textures with pulsating rhythms. As a DJ, he is a staple of Berlin’s club scene—performing at venues like Panorama Bar and Hoppetosse—where he continues to shape a distinctive minimal-music identity rooted in nostalgia and emotional expression.
Tore Honoré Bøe is a transmedia artist who has been active for more than 30 years, working across sound, visual art, performance, and writing. Over his long career, he has released hundreds of recordings, exhibited internationally, collaborated with experimental figures such as Lasse Marhaug and Swans’ Michael Gira, and coordinated the Origami Republika network.
Helene Rickhard is a DJ and electronic artist celebrated for her eclectic, atmospheric sound, drawing from synth-wave, minimal wave, cosmic disco, and vintage synthesizers. Her debut album Unpredictable Express was released on Snick Snack Music on November 14, 2025. The album takes listeners on a psychedelic journey through electro, techno, krautrock, post-punk, and ambient textures, combining introspective sound design with dancefloor energy.
Dale Cornish is a South London based electronic musician whose work sits at the intersection of experimental music, electroacoustic composition, and dance. With a career that began in the early 2000s, including work in electroclash bands like No Bra, he has evolved his sound into deeply personal albums, such as Traditional Music of South London (2022), which maps a “psychosexual geography” of queer urban myth. His latest achievement is his 2025 album Altruism, released on The Death Of Rave, which tackles themes like gender‑affirming surgery, masculinity, and queer relationships through a mix of raw club pulses and emotive songwriting.
Geir Jenssen, better known as Biosphere, is an electronic musician from Tromsø and a true pioneer of international ambient and electronic music. His sound—often described as “arctic ambient”—blends minimal synthesizers, loops, and field recordings to evoke vast, icy landscapes and a contemplative sense of space. His 1997 album Substrata is considered a landmark work in ambient music. Throughout his decades-long career, Biosphere has shaped a uniquely Norwegian electronic aesthetic, influencing generations of artists.
